Instacart added an FSA/HSA Eligible badge to identify certain products that may qualify for reimbursement under Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). At this time, you can’t use your FSA or HSA card as payment on the Instacart platform. If you enrolled in an FSA or HSA plan, your benefits provider can reimburse you for eligible items you buy through Instacart.

Look for the badge reading FSA/HSA Eligible when shopping on the Instacart platform to see which items may qualify for FSA or HSA reimbursement. You must submit a receipt of the eligible products you purchase to your benefits provider for reimbursement.

Please note that your Instacart receipt shows the delivery date, not the date you place the order. This may impact your ability to get reimbursement, as you generally forfeit unused FSA funds if they’re not used during the 1-year period. HSA funds typically do not expire. Contact your plan administrator or employer for more information or with item eligibility questions.

You can find a list of healthcare products eligible for FSA and HSA reimbursement at Publication 969 on the IRS website. The eligibility information Instacart provides is for your convenience. Instacart does not guarantee the accuracy of the information. Please note that gift orders, tips, and certain other fees may not be eligible for reimbursement.
